JEU DE SOI (GAME OF SELF)

Feelings are the essence of my work. I am inspired by how seemingly contradictory emotions can coexist inside of us. They shape our relationship to ourselves, others, and the world at large. With Jeu de soi (Game of Self), I built pastel artworks and sculptures to help us contemplate those tensions.

You’ll discover large swaths of vivid colors living in unexpected harmony, together and separately. Warm shades of purple, orange, and yellow play with cooler blues. Feminine shapes, structural lines, and physical blocks living in unison, reflect our multi faceted selves. BIOGRAPHY

Marine Futin is a French painter, sculptor, and singer-songwriter. She studied in France and China, performed throughout India, and later moved to New York City to record her first album, Qui danse (2015). She lives in Brooklyn, NY, where she either plays with her pastels or her guitar depending on the mood of the day.
